Hyunkyung Lim, SLP
I am a bilingual speech-language pathologist with a strong background in voice performance and a deep passion for fostering effective communication. My journey into speech-language pathology emerged naturally from my early experiences in vocal performance and teaching. I discovered that helping others - especially children - find and refine their voices is both a calling and a way to create meaningful, lasting change. I work primarily with children and their families, offering services in both Korean and English, and I am committed to creating a warm, supportive, and engaging therapy environment.
I believe that every client possesses unique strengths, and that therapy should be tailored to enhance these strengths in a fun, meaningful, and culturally sensitive manner. My approach is integrative, combining evidence-based methods with creative, play-based strategies to support language development, articulation, and social communication. I work collaboratively with caregivers, believing that early intervention and family involvement are essential for progress. My methods draw on principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, naturalistic teaching, and family systems theory - while my background in voice performance adds a specialized edge for clients with voice or neurogenic communication challenges.
